Ten Appalling Lies We Were Told About Iraq
(AlterNet)
The mainstream press, after an astonishing two years of cowardice, is belatedly drawing attention to the unconscionable level of administrative deception. They seem surprised to find that when it comes to Iraq, the Bush administration isn't prone to the occasional lie of expediency but, in fact, almost never told the truth. Those who opposed him wanted Clinton impeached for lying about his personal infidelities. Bush's lies are much wider in scope and damaging on an international level. His lies are costing the lives of a growing number of American soldiers, untold billions of our tax dollars, and our reputation abroad. He's a Banana Republican. But then, things never ring true when Dubya's involved. From that first butterfly ballot, his administration was built on a bed of lies. But what to do?
